About the position

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer with strong municipal experience to join a dynamic team. The role involves managing and implementing multi-discipline projects, primarily serving as a project Engineer/Assistant City Engineer for the City of Dayton. The candidate will work closely with city staff and coordinate project teams focused on engineering and construction services for clients in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Attend development related applicant and staff meetings, including monthly (night) Planning Commission meetings.
• Perform technical reviews of public infrastructure on application submittals, coordinating specialized technical reviews by others.
• Ongoing coordination between developer personnel and city and field staff throughout construction of public improvements.
• Review program of lot surveys and grading as-built surveys for construction permits.
• Lead/coordinate design and plan production for public improvement projects.
• Attend preconstruction meetings for city and developer contracted projects.
• Coordinate between design and field services throughout the construction phase.
• Collaborate and provide support to construction services staff and perform intermittent construction oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 5-10 years of civil engineering design experience with an emphasis in municipal services.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated with the ability to keep projects on track.
• Construction experience strongly preferred.
• Proven knowledge and skills of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
