About the position

This position is located at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Honolulu, HI, and is a Career-Seasonal appointment, which means it is a permanent position but does not provide work on a year-round basis. The role involves managing various engineering projects related to facilities and maintenance operations, including construction, rehabilitation, and renovation. The employee will work from approximately December through May and will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project scoping, data and asset management, and design phases for various facilities.
  • Oversee construction, rehabilitation, and renovation projects including visitor centers, lodging, and communication systems.
  • Ensure projects meet budget and schedule requirements while balancing cultural and natural resource compliance issues.
  • Provide professional guidance based on major principles and industry standards for engineering projects.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
  • Must have a degree in Engineering or a combination of education and experience in engineering.
  • At least one year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Experience managing contractors or project team members.
