About the position

The Civil Engineer position at Bloom involves working within a dynamic civil engineering group on a variety of projects, including civil site development, grading design, and utility design. The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth, allowing engineers to leverage each other's strengths to enhance project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all civil design tasks required for each unique project under the direction of Bloom leadership.
• Conduct site visits and general data collection efforts to support the design.
• Design civil utilities including water distribution networks, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers.
• Design civil site features such as roads, sidewalks, and other site features to support the overall site plan.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and other site utility designs.
• Draft, review, and finalize stormwater management plans including water quality and quantity calculations and/or modeling.
• Develop grading plans to support the overall site plan objectives.
• Bring all project deliverables to completion in a team setting, including plans, specifications, permits, and design reports.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
• Interact and communicate effectively with Bloom leadership, design team members, clients, project owners, and other project stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings and represent the company professionally.
• Participate in Bloom's mentor/mentee culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 0-3 years of experience
• Ability to work in a team setting to complete all assigned project design tasks
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
• Good communication skills
