The City of Fort Worth is seeking a dedicated and energetic Civil Engineer to join the Water Capital Delivery team. This position plays a crucial role in reviewing capital improvement projects related to water and wastewater pipeline design, management, and construction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of water and wastewater design principles and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing various projects from the pre-development phase through to post-construction, ensuring compliance with design requirements established by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). You will also provide technical leadership to engineering technicians and other staff members, guiding them in water and wastewater engineering practices. In addition to project management responsibilities, you will supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the section, which includes overseeing pre-development meetings, plats, Board of Adjustment cases, zoning cases, and site plans. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you analyze and resolve planning and development-related problems, gather data through research, and recommend solutions while monitoring their implementation. This position requires strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal staff and external customers, as well as to address construction-related issues in collaboration with Field Operation staff.
