The Town of Marana is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Development Services Department. This full-time position presents an exciting opportunity for an individual eager to make a direct impact on private development projects within a rapidly growing community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting technical engineering reviews for various private development projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and local regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to managing engineering tasks and collaborating with developers to facilitate successful project outcomes. As a Civil Engineer, you will manage and direct the day-to-day duties of three Engineering Specialists, overseeing their work and providing guidance as needed. Your responsibilities will include reviewing design documents such as construction drawings, plats, and technical reports, as well as residential and commercial grading permits. You will also be tasked with geometric designs to ensure they meet the required engineering standards, street standards, and the Town's land development code for both town and developer projects. In addition to technical reviews, you will perform impact fee analysis and calculations, administer development assurances, and manage the development closeout process. Project management on minor projects will also be part of your duties, which includes preparing cost estimates and managing the Town's wayfinder program. Furthermore, you will review engineering documents associated with development and contribute to the development of related standards, such as guidance or procedural manuals and codes.
