About the position

AECOM is seeking a talented Civil Engineer with experience in site, roadway, municipal, or airport projects. The role involves developing civil airfield designs, coordinating with various stakeholders, and managing engineering and municipal projects from planning through construction. The position requires strong technical skills in civil design and the ability to establish positive client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Developing civil airfield design, municipal projects, site design and construction improvement documents
• Coordinating with planning and design team members, contractors, and sub-consultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects
• Performing civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports
• Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of engineering and municipal projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation
• Involved with projects from start to completion including planning, design, and construction administration, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans
• Collaborating and/or coordinating delivery teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
• AutoCAD or MicroStation 3D modeling mentoring
• Supervise, coordinate, and produce several projects concurrently
• Establishing positive client relationships
• Coordinating with clients, funding agencies, state aviation officials, FAA, and local permit agencies
• Conducting regular site visits during the design and construction phases of improvement projects throughout the United States

Requirements

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D Design or Open Roads Designer
• Experience with civil site development or airfield design and construction
• EI or PE, preferably State of Iowa
