About The Position

The Digital Modernization Group for the NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Kansas City office. This position presents an exciting opportunity to leverage your engineering expertise in support of the National Airspace System Integration Support (NISC) mission. In this role, you will provide essential subject matter expertise to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) across the Central Service Area, contributing to the development and maintenance of critical infrastructure that supports aviation operations. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks, including general engineering review and design for projects both on and off airport grounds. Your primary responsibilities will include the design of FAA buildings, equipment shelters, communication centers, and access roads. You will also be tasked with reviewing designs from other engineers for FAA buildings and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. In addition to design responsibilities, you will oversee construction activities related to FAA projects, providing oversight and review to ensure that all work meets the required specifications. Maintenance of FAA buildings, roads, taxiways, equipment shelters, and other FAA equipment locations will also fall under your purview, ensuring that these facilities remain operational and safe for use. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil Engineering, along with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience. The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance is essential, and candidates should be prepared for occasional travel, estimated at up to 10% of the time.
