About the position

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Civil Engineering Analyst to join our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. This position is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering. The role is not remote, and the selected candidate will be expected to work on-site. As a Civil Engineering Analyst, you will utilize various technical software programs regularly to analyze, produce, and ensure quality control of deliverables for our clients. You will contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects that vary in size and scope. This position requires solving complex problems, assisting project managers, and collaborating across disciplines to bring our clients' visions for the future built environment to life. In this role, you will develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and our clients' practices, procedures, and standards. Analysts will have the opportunity to learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and/or GIS. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience and technical training, along with developmental programs aimed at cultivating Kimley-Horn's future leaders. Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
  • Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects.
  • Solve complex problems and assist project managers in project execution.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to produce clients' visions for the built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and clients' practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Learn one or more software programs specific to civil engineering disciplines, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and/or GIS.

Requirements

  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • 1-3 years of Civil Engineering design experience.
  • EIT or ability to obtain one within a year.
