About the position

The position is for a dynamic civil engineering leader responsible for driving business growth and team development in the Louisville regional market. The ideal candidate will manage the Louisville office, spearhead team expansion, and contribute to the organization's growth trajectory while upholding core values and promoting innovation in a multi-disciplinary Civil Engineering firm. This role offers significant growth opportunities as the company continues to expand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Louisville office operations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with staff, discipline leaders, and senior management.
  • Coordinate with discipline leaders, management, and corporate HR staff on personnel and staffing issues.
  • Monitor workloads and ensure effective resource allocation in collaboration with senior management.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic initiatives with senior leaders and business development staff.
  • Manage relationships with agencies and consultants, maintaining strong, productive partnerships.
  • Engage in business development and networking activities, representing the company at industry events.
  • Participate in recruiting efforts, identifying staffing needs and actively engaging in the recruitment process.
  • Cultivate new business opportunities and relationships to drive regional growth.
  • Promote the company's brand and services within the Louisville regional market.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team of civil engineering professionals.
  • Uphold and promote a positive workplace culture and corporate values.
  • Lead major or strategic projects and serve as the primary Project Management representative to select clients as needed.
  • Provide or ensure QA/QC on local projects and contribute to the production of select deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering.
  • Demonstrated networking and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Experience with project management and accounting software is helpful.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
