About the position

Brown Consulting Engineers is seeking a qualified full-time Draftsman to join our St. George, Utah office. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects in the fast-growing St. George area. As a full-service engineering and land surveying firm, we operate throughout Utah, Nevada, and Arizona, providing a dynamic work environment where you can contribute to significant civil engineering projects. The Draftsman will be involved in various project disciplines including water, wastewater, storm drain, land development, transportation, and construction management. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing design drawings and details for civil engineering projects, which includes creating survey drawings and plat maps for property surveys. You will manage project files and survey data collected from the field, ensuring that all information is organized and accessible. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software is essential, as you will use this tool to prepare site plans, grading plans, and utility plan drawings. Additionally, you may be assigned other duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of the projects you work on. Responsibilities

  • Preparing design drawings and details for civil engineering projects.
  • Preparing survey drawings and plat maps for property surveys.
  • Managing project files and survey data from the field.
  • Using AutoCAD Civil 3D software to prepare site plan, grading plan, and utility plan drawings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in civil engineering and surveying projects.
  • Associates degree in CAD technology or equivalent.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a variety of projects.
