About the position
Kimley-Horn is seeking Engineering students for internship opportunities in their Alpharetta, GA office. This position is designed for students pursuing an ABET accredited engineering degree, providing hands-on experience in civil engineering design and analysis. Interns will utilize technical software and collaborate on various projects, gaining valuable insights into the engineering field and the company's practices.
Responsibilities
- Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
- Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects.
- Solve complex problems and assist project managers in project execution.
- Collaborate across disciplines to realize clients' visions for the built environment.
- Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and clients' practices, procedures, and standards.
- Learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, and/or GIS.
Requirements
- In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
