About the position

The Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in a variety of water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and modeling projects. This position emphasizes collaboration with senior engineers and project managers, providing opportunities for mentorship and professional growth. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of delivering transformative projects in a dynamic office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers on larger, complex projects, including task management.
  • Participate in and lead tasks to support and mentor junior staff.
  • Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project goals.
  • Prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and calculations.
  • Prepare models, engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.
  • Possess a positive attitude, are dependable and meet assigned project deadlines.
  • Effectively work with project teams with diverse technical skill sets and geographic locations.
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.
  • 1-3 years of water engineering experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer License in Arkansas or ability to gain reciprocity.
  • Previous professional experience with a consulting firm.
  • Professional society involvement.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams.
