The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and execution of various land development projects, collaborating closely with civil engineers, land planners, landscape architects, and CAD designers. This position requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, particularly in the context of residential, commercial, and municipal projects. The Project Engineer will be responsible for civil design tasks, ensuring compliance with construction permitting requirements related to soil erosion and sedimentation control, NPDES stormwater discharge, sanitary sewer systems, water mains, and wetland/floodplain regulations. Additionally, the role involves obtaining necessary permits from agencies such as the MDEQ and MDOT for commercial driveways. In this position, the Project Engineer will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and design work, which is essential for creating accurate and detailed project plans. Participation in site visits, agency meetings, and municipal meetings is also a key aspect of the role, allowing for effective communication and collaboration with team members and clients. The ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, is critical for success in this position. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills to navigate the complexities of land development projects. This full-time position offers some flexibility in hours, but the Project Engineer must be available during standard work hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role combines sedentary work with field and travel-related tasks, requiring the employee to adapt to various physical demands and environmental conditions.
