About the position

Bowman Consulting Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Team Lead in Fairfax, VA, to provide engineering and design services while leading a team of engineers. The role involves managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring successful project delivery on time and within budget. The Team Lead will also be responsible for client interactions, marketing the firm's capabilities, and driving profitability and growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and production team through the planning and design of civil engineering projects.
• Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution of projects.
• Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
• Assist with marketing the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
• Execute project contracts and develop internal staff.
• Mentor and direct junior staff, coordinating with project managers.
• Prepare new contract proposals and attend project meetings.
• Provide technical assistance in the resolution of design problems.
• Act as the technical specialist for advanced concepts in civil engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• Ten or more years of engineering or related land development experience.
• Minimum of five years managing multiple complex large scale land development projects.
• Experience with water/wastewater collection systems, stormwater management, and grading.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil3D or similar design software.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
