About the position

The position involves providing engineering support for the water/wastewater group at Tetra Tech, focusing on municipal water and wastewater projects. The successful candidate will engage in both conceptual and detailed design, hydraulic calculations, and various engineering documentation to support the upgrade of aging infrastructure and the development of sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual and detailed design and hydraulic calculations and analyses.
• Assist in preparing detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documents.
• Conduct research related to engineering policies and practices.
• Develop or prepare descriptive charts, figures/maps, and tables/matrices.
• Support cost-benefit analysis.
• Perform field work or construction observation.
• Contribute to project documentation and deliverables such as memos and reports.
• Assist with quality control and assurance.
• Prepare permit applications and support materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• EIT Certification.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Related site/civil or municipal experience is highly desired.
• Familiarity with the design-bid-build process including engineering analysis, permitting, and construction administration.
• Ability to lead engineering designs independently and work collaboratively.
• Experience with AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred).
• Computer literate with knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of cost estimating and construction observation.
