About the position

Carollo Engineers is seeking an Engineering Intern to join their Oklahoma City team for a water distribution engineering study focused on water quality. The intern will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a corrosion study pilot plant at the Draper Water Treatment Plant, as well as assisting with other studies and construction services at various water plants in Oklahoma City. This is a part-time, temporary position that requires onsite work and is expected to last until March 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in field activities such as site investigations, water quality testing, and pilot plant operations.
  • Run and maintain multiple pipe-loop skid at Draper WTP, including collecting water samples, performing tests, chemical dosing, data collection, and observing mechanical operations.
  • Commit to an estimated 8-16 hours per week with potential trips to the Draper WTP and Oklahoma City office.
  • Assist with sample preparation for analysis and/or shipping to other laboratories.
  • Help prepare technical memoranda, reports, and other electronic deliverables.
  • Attend one mandatory meeting via MS Teams.
  • Maintain accurate and complete data entry logs and perform data analysis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrolled or completed sophomore year of college.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience and/or coursework in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance.
  • Experience with technical laboratory equipment and tools.
  • Previous related internship experience.
  • Licensed as an Engineer Intern (EI) or scheduled to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays.
