About the position

The Civil Environmental Project Engineer position at Woodard & Curran involves working on various water and environmental projects in a collaborative and supportive environment. The engineer will engage in project tasks from day one, working closely with experienced professionals and utilizing their technical skills to solve problems and support project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations in support of projects.
  • Conduct remediation monitoring and oversee contractors.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory submittals, technical memorandums, and engineering design reports.
  • Manage, analyze, evaluate, and interpret data for reports and visualizations.
  • Verify calculation briefs developed by peers.
  • Research design options and document findings for Project Manager/Engineer.
  • Provide information to Project Manager/Engineer for specifications.
  • Assist in the development of technical documents.
  • Support business development activities.
  • Assist field investigations and provide construction oversight, ensuring safety and thorough documentation.
  • Collect samples of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably civil engineering with an environmental and stormwater design emphasis.
  • 3 - 10 years of professional experience with an environmental/engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience working around construction equipment and/or in a construction environment.
  • Familiarity with and a working knowledge of CERCLA.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of project work plans, schedules, and budgets is a plus.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, modeling and/or database software is a plus.
  • Experience with programming languages (preferably Python, R, and/or SQL) is a plus.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • EIT certification and MS desirable.
