About the position

The Civil Graduate Engineer position at CEC Corporation involves working under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) to develop engineering design alternatives for various projects. The role requires the use of computer software to create detailed drawings and design layouts, as well as the development of 3D models. The engineer will also assist in project documentation, client relationship management, and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop feasible engineering design alternatives to meet project requirements under licensed P.E. supervision.
  • Utilize computer software to create detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for land development and site plans.
  • Develop 3D models of projects using horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, and various design criteria.
  • Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, schedules, and permitting for projects.
  • Assist upper-level engineers as directed while developing engineering skills.
  • Provide technical support and input in the resolution of project issues, including field investigations and site inspections.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Maintain accurate design standards and procedures in assigned work.
  • Coordinate with other engineers, designers, and technicians on project activities.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings as needed.
  • Ensure QC/QA procedures are followed.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Mathematical skills including probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency preferred.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize and organize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
