About the position

H&H is seeking a mid-level CADD Designer specializing in Highway, Roadway, and Stormwater projects to join their New York, NY office. The role involves collaborating with various project teams to support proposals, planning, and design tasks, utilizing advanced CADD software to produce detailed civil transportation plans. The designer will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure the successful execution of infrastructure projects, leveraging over 137 years of experience in the engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and the design team to advance and complete a variety of project types, including roadway, bridge, and drainage.
• Produce 2D and 3D models and drafting of civil transportation plans using Microstation or AutoCAD drafting software with limited supervision.
• Develop highway and roadway infrastructure projects with plans, profiles, superelevation transitions, and cross sections.
• Produce conceptual and final construction design plans for utilities, grading, and stormwater.
• Use 3D modeling for roadways, drainage, and grading designs.
• Coordinate with complimentary disciplines at a project level, including structural, electrical, mechanical, and architectural teams.
• Support design services during construction activities.
• Produce models for calculating construction quantity takeoffs and create spreadsheets summarizing estimated quantities.
• Assist junior engineers and professionals.

Requirements

• Five+ years of experience as a civil designer or CADD operator.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
• High school graduate, technical degree in BIM/CAD software (preferred).
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads / GeoPAK, and OpenRoads Designer.
• Experience in various infrastructure project types: Drainage, Roadway, Utilities.
• Experience developing and supporting engineering drawings.
• Experience with file conversion and file management between multiple digital environments.
• Familiar with AASHTO Highway Design Guide, NYSDOT Highway Design Manual, NYSDOT Bridge Design Manual, MUTCD, NYCDOT standards, NYCDEP standards, and other related standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks in a logical order.
• Strong verbal communication and time management skills.
