About the position

The Civil Hydraulic Engineer (Owners Representative) will serve as a key figure in overseeing heavy civil capital and hydraulic engineering projects for an entertainment client in Anaheim. This role involves providing technical guidance, reviewing engineering studies, and ensuring the successful execution of utility infrastructure projects. The position demands strong leadership and technical skills, with a focus on independent work and minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to consultants for the preparation of civil engineering studies, reports, construction plans, and specifications.
  • Review hydrologic and hydraulic studies and provide recommendations for project planning and design.
  • Develop equipment and construction specifications for civil infrastructure, including pipelines, lift stations, and treatment systems.
  • Lead capital planning efforts, focusing on system capacity, end-of-life replacement, and new utility infrastructure installations.
  • Review and analyze contract documents and drawings related to utility systems to ensure compliance with standards and project objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of utility system capital projects and hydraulic engineering for sustaining projects using InfoWater or similar systems.
  • Offer strong analytical support to resolve complex engineering issues and challenges.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support on their assigned projects.
  • Foster collaboration among various skilled professionals and personalities within the project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on municipal or consulting projects.
  • Strong background in heavy civil engineering and underground utility system design.
  • Experience with hydraulic engineering, specifically in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Proficient in construction administration and civil grading design.
  • Familiarity with civil utility system standards and codes.
  • Operational experience in standards development or plan review.
  • Ability to review and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California (preferred, but not required).
  • Experience in data management and editing in Esri ArcGIS.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, InfoWater or similar modeling software.
  • Prior experience with flood modeling and hydraulic/hydrologic systems for water-related projects.

Benefits

  • $75/hr. W2 compensation
  • 12-month contract
