About the position

The Engineer Intern position at Thornton Tomasetti is an opportunity for undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering to gain hands-on experience within the Transportation Practice. The role involves collaborating with staff engineers on various tasks related to civil and infrastructure projects, contributing to the design and analysis of transportation systems, and participating in site visits and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff engineers on active projects
• Conduct hydraulic analysis and roadway design
• Perform grading and drainage tasks
• Estimate quantities and draft/detail civil and infrastructure elements
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Coordinate work under supervision of in-house staff
• Participate in on-site visits and inspections

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in B.S. Civil Engineering
• Excellent academic record
• Experience in AutoCAD is helpful but not required
• Familiarity with BIM is a plus
