About the position

Goldberg Segalla is seeking a highly motivated and organized Civil Litigation Paralegal specializing in Toxic Tort to join their team in California. This full-time position involves providing a wide range of legal support to supervising attorneys, including maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and communicating with clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist and provide a wide range of legal support to supervising attorney(s).
• Maintain files and conduct legal research.
• Draft legal documents and communicate with clients and other parties involved in cases.
• Prepare discovery requests and standard form motions.
• E-file in all California jurisdictions (state and federal).
• Prepare medical abstracts/chronologies and organize legal documents.
• Assist with pre-trial preparation, including coordinating expert depositions and disclosures.
• Investigate facts of cases by contacting and interviewing witnesses.
• Organize and maintain documents in physical files and document management software.
• Prepare trial, mediation, and motion hearing binders for attorneys.
• Overall case management, including assisting attorneys with meeting calendars and pleading deadlines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a civil litigation and trial paralegal.
• Litigation defense experience preferred.
• ABA-accredited paralegal certification (or equivalent) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong research and investigative skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with e-filing in California jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with legal documents and terminology.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
