About the position

The Civil Litigation Paralegal at Robles, Bracken and Hughes, PLLC is responsible for supporting attorneys in various aspects of civil litigation. This role involves reviewing case files, gathering medical records, preparing legal documents, and assisting with trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in litigation and a strong understanding of legal procedures and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and analyzing new case files and medical records.
  • Gathering medical records and other discovery via subpoenas, authorizations, etc.
  • Tracking, organizing, and preparing discovery materials for counsel, experts, and other witnesses.
  • Assisting attorneys with trial preparation.
  • Organizing and maintaining files in the document management system.
  • Performing general office administration functions.
  • Taking initiative and prioritizing duties with little supervision.
  • Preparing legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda.
  • E-filing all court documents in state and federal court.
  • Communicating with clients, courts, counsel, experts, etc.
  • Conducting legal research and factual investigation, including social media and public research.
  • Preparing discovery documents, interrogatories, requests for production, and responses.
  • Drafting and serving summons.
  • Coordinating and summarizing depositions.
  • Preparing depositions and trial binders and exhibits.
  • Maintaining pleadings and discovery files.
  • Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Gathering relevant information from various sources.
  • Liaising between trial teams and internal and external third parties.
  • Assisting with witness preparation.
  • Helping with case settlements.
  • Preparing FOIA and other public record requests.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as a Paralegal (Required)
  • Litigation experience (Preferred)
  • Paralegal Certificate/Licensure or Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Notary Public (A Plus)
