About the position

The Civil Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in a reputable law firm located in Burlington, Vermont. This role is essential for ensuring the success of the legal team by conducting research, drafting documents, and providing administrative support. The position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment while enhancing legal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation.
  • Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, contracts, and pleadings.
  • Organize and maintain legal files and documentation.
  • Assist in case management and trial preparation.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies.
  • Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations relevant to our practice areas.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and managing attorney calendars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field (preferred).
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Paralegal in a law firm or legal department.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the practice area(s) of the firm.
