About the position

At HDR, we specialize in engineering, architecture, environmental, and construction services. We are currently seeking a Civil/Municipal Project Manager to join our growing office in Houston or Corpus Christi, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring that they are completed on schedule and within budget. You will lead engineering and process design, project coordination, and the writing of engineering specifications. Your responsibilities will also include planning work, establishing appropriate design methods, and preparing reports. You will work directly with owners and clients to establish strong client relations and will be involved in leading marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings. As a Civil/Municipal Project Manager, you will conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites, collaborating with technical professionals and other disciplines. You will coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project's development and ensure that all documents are completed on time. Additionally, you will work closely with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers, and the Area Manager for project reviews. Implementing QA/QC procedures and executing training for personnel as per strategic plans will also be part of your responsibilities. You will typically mentor less experienced project staff to aid in their professional growth and serve as the client manager for several strategic clients within the central Texas region. This position requires a commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture, and you will perform other duties as needed to support the team and the projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple civil/municipal projects concurrently.
  • Lead engineering/process design and project coordination.

  • Establish client relations and lead marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.

  • Implement QA/QC procedures and execute training for personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience designing and supporting implementation of municipal projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
  • PE required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other civil engineering software as appropriate.
  • Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.
