About the position

AECOM is seeking a talented and driven Civil Engineer or Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in Orange, CA. This role involves providing engineering support for various water treatment projects, utility pipelines, pump stations, and site design. The position offers an opportunity for career growth and development in a collaborative environment, with guidance from a dedicated Department Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or any related discipline and 4 years of relevant Process Mechanical Engineering or equivalent wastewater engineering work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • California Professional Engineering License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five years of relevant water industry-related work experience as a Process Mechanical Engineer or as Water / Wastewater Engineer.
  • Basic knowledge of Hydraulics Institute Standards.
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, BIM360, REVIT, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work schedules.
  • MS Office proficiency.
