About the position

The Civil Party Chief will be responsible for leading survey crews in various surveying projects, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of survey data collection. The role requires a strong understanding of survey equipment and methods, as well as the ability to work independently and manage subordinate personnel. The position is full-time and requires the candidate to be based in the Southeastern United States.

Responsibilities

• Work as a one-two man survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients.
• Support projects in the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and surrounding states.
• Setup, operate and routinely validate accuracies of survey equipment including data-collector, digital level, and GPS system.
• Perform and verify survey related mathematical calculations.
• Prepare and maintain legible field notes and sketches for all work performed.
• Perform all aspects of stakeout and location surveys using applicable survey equipment.
• Maintain all survey equipment and keep survey truck stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
• Coordinate work of assigned subordinate personnel.
• Make accuracy and calibration checks and adjustments on equipment used.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of (5) years of experience working as a civil survey party chief
• Experience working on renewable and land development projects
• Knowledgeable with Trimble Access, Trimble Business Center, Trimble robotic total stations, Trimble GPS and data upload/download routines
• Knowledgeable with Trimble survey styles, site calibration routines and methodology
• Knowledgeable with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys
• Ability to perform all aspects of data collection in reference to boundary surveys, topographic surveys, roadway corridor surveys, control surveys and as-built surveys
• Ability to work outside in all seasons and comfortable working along roadway or near congested traffic.
