About the position

The Civil Principal Designer at Fluor Corporation is responsible for providing essential technical knowledge and performing design work on complex projects. This role aims to enhance Fluor's competitiveness in the global marketplace by delivering high-quality services and technical competence. The position involves creating 3D models, preparing advanced CAD drawings, and ensuring compliance with project requirements while adhering to industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical knowledge and perform design work on complex projects.
• Create 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity.
• Prepare 2D CAD drawings of advanced complexity.
• Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.

Requirements

• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to fifteen (15) years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences including management, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Intermediate knowledge of site design, layout, and modeling, grading and drainage design, erosion and sediment control, and underground utilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Intermediate knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, Vehicle Tracking, Bentley OpenRoads, and MicroStation.
• EPC project experience working on industrial projects or for the US Department of Energy.
• Practical field experience.
