About the position

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Stormwater candidate for our Stormwater Group located in our Raleigh, NC office. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing portions of projects using relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology. This role involves completing calculations using engineering formulas and skills, as well as utilizing computers to solve engineering problems. The candidate will prepare specifications and materials through research and equipment catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection, and payment of items specific to a project. In addition to design work, the candidate will work to complete design details and plan sets, perform research, and write objective summary reports that are essential for project completion or inspection. The role also includes assisting in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates, completing field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff. Effective communication with client staff and the internal design team is crucial, as directed by senior engineering staff.

Responsibilities

  • Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills, and utilize computers to solve problems.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related degree.
  • Coursework or professional experience in civil engineering related to water is ideal.
  • EIT or PE preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in civil engineering design.
  • Working knowledge of CADD and/or Civil 3D software (Civil 3D preferred).
