About the position

Bolton & Menk is seeking a Project Engineer, PE to join their Water/Wastewater team in Burnsville. This role focuses on managing engineering projects related to water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring that the company’s mission of creating safe, sustainable, and beautiful communities is upheld. The position involves collaboration with project managers, technical advising, and potential business development activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, scheduling, and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel, both design and construction.
• Work closely with Project Managers to understand client needs and expectations.
• Review and/or prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
• Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or modifications and repairs to clients, contractors, and staff.
• Assist with business development activities, including client needs assessment, research, and proposals.
• Coordinate construction administration and monitor documentation requirements with field staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred, with an emphasis in water and/or wastewater treatment.
• Licensed Professional Engineer, with the ability to obtain Minnesota licensure within 6 months of hire.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in the civil engineering field, particularly with water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
• Experience with client relationship management and business development.
• Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration.
