As a Civil Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis, which includes the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications, and construction plans. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about civil engineering and are eager to contribute to innovative projects while enjoying a supportive and fun work environment. In this role, you will independently evaluate, plan, and conduct work that requires sound judgment in the evaluation and selection of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will have the opportunity to devise new alternatives and approaches to problems encountered in your work, allowing you to perform technically challenging tasks in your specialty area. Additionally, you may exercise project leadership in a technical or managerial capacity on certain projects or oversee portions of larger projects, providing you with a chance to grow your leadership skills. Key responsibilities include drafting procedures and system requirements for clients, utilizing various design software, coordinating with municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines, and completing permit applications for a variety of municipalities. You will also be involved in flexible and rigid pavement design, geometric pavement and site circulation design, preparation of specifications and cost estimates, and traffic warrants and guardrail warrants. Regularly, your work assignments will be checked by peers or supervisors, and you will have the opportunity to direct and train Civil Designers to assist them in completing reports, exhibits, plans, specifications, and permit applications as required by the project's contractual scope. We are looking for candidates who possess a strong knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precision technical plans and drawings, as well as an understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software is essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms. You should also be able to interpret state and local design criteria and apply them to specific project needs, consistently producing high-quality construction documents.
