As a Civil Project Engineer 2, you will play a crucial role in assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis, which includes the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications, and construction plans. You will also have the opportunity to direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers, fostering a collaborative and educational atmosphere within the team. Your responsibilities will encompass drafting procedures and system requirements for clients, utilizing various design software, and coordinating with municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines. You will be tasked with completing permit applications for a variety of municipalities, as well as engaging in flexible and rigid pavement design, geometric pavement, and site circulation design. Additionally, you will prepare specifications and cost estimates, conduct traffic warrants and guardrail warrants, and ensure that your work assignments are regularly checked by peers or supervisors. You will also guide Civil Designers in completing reports, exhibits, plans, specifications, and permit applications as required by the project's contractual scope. Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications, and construction plan preparation.
  • Draft procedures and system requirements of clients.
  • Utilize various design software for project execution.
  • Coordinate with municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines.
  • Complete permit applications for a variety of municipalities.
  • Engage in flexible pavement design and rigid pavement design.
  • Conduct geometric pavement and site circulation design.
  • Prepare specifications and cost estimates.
  • Perform traffic warrants and guardrail warrants.
  • Direct and train Civil Designers to assist in completing reports, exhibits, plans, specifications, and permit applications as required by the project's contractual scope.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of qualifying experience.
  • Mastery knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans and drawings.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
  • Understanding of materials and methods relevant to civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to specific project needs.
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality construction documents.
