About the position

The Civil Project Manager - Commercial Land Development at Timmons Group will oversee and manage multiple projects within the Corporate Retail Development Program, focusing on commercial land development across NC, SC, and VA. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication with clients, and the ability to design and prepare project specifications using relevant software and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track multiple projects with clients in multiple jurisdictions
  • Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilize computers to solve problems
  • Prepare specifications materials using research and manufacturing catalogs
  • Work to complete design details and plan sets with other staff
  • Perform research and write objective summary reports for project completion or inspection
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff
  • Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a scientific area and/or equivalent work experience
  • Professional registration (P.E., L.S., etc.) in one or more states is preferred
  • 8+ years experience in civil engineering related specifically to commercial site design
  • 4+ years experience in civil engineering project management
  • 4+ years experience in the Triangle land development market is highly preferred
  • Thorough understanding of project accounting and ability to manage schedule and budget for multiple projects
  • Experience in marketing and supervision of the technical work of others
  • Working knowledge of technical and office support software required for the position
  • Professional attitude towards clients and internal staff
  • Effective communication skills for daily task completion
