About the position
Cannon Corp is seeking a Civil Senior Principal Engineer to manage and oversee various civil engineering Public Works projects. This role involves project management, engineering report preparation, design, and mentoring less-experienced team members. The position also includes business development responsibilities, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage a variety of civil engineering Public Works projects concurrently.
- Track project scope, budgets, and schedules to ensure fulfillment of contract commitments and profitability.
- Conduct business development and create proposals and presentations.
- Effectively manage quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation and storm drain projects.
- Interface with clients on project coordination and design to ensure quality standards are met.
- Direct and mentor project engineers and design engineers on technical matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
- California P.E. license in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in Civil Engineering, specifically in Public Works projects.
- Minimum 8 years' project management experience in Public Works projects.
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing a team and direct reports.
- Experience in business development and strong relationships with local agencies.
- Proven track record of providing superior client service and delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time within budget.
- Experience in staff management, mentoring, and resource management.
