About the position

The Civil Sr Manager at AECOM will lead mid- to large-size highway and roadway projects in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves business development, technical expertise in engineering design, and quality control, while also managing project budgets and schedules. The position requires strong leadership and people management skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size highway/roadway projects.
  • Engages in business development including prospecting and proposal development with established relationships with local clients.
  • Handles alternative delivery projects prospecting, proposals, and project procurements.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Approves and signs off on work.
  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
  • Acts as a strong technical resource and advisor.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Uses expertise in completing discipline components of PA/ED and PS&E package.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree with 10 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Professional Engineer license in Indiana or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Project Management experience in transportation projects.
  • Computer proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software packages, including OpenRoads Designer and Civil3D.
  • Established relationships with local clients, particularly with INDOT and Indiana Counties.
  • Strong business development capabilities with municipal, regional, and state decision-makers.
