About the position

The Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) Field Engineer at Fluor is responsible for ensuring the quality of all civil and architectural construction work on the project. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to address design requirements, resolve field problems, and maintain project quality control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Constructability Reviews on the project
  • Utilize project automation tools
  • Design temporary construction facilities as required
  • Implement project Construction Quality Control requirements including inspection and testing of in-process and completed installations
  • Provide technical assistance to the Civil Superintendent and Area Superintendent
  • Communicate with Design Engineering to understand design requirements and resolve field problems
  • Perform quantity take-offs from design drawings as required and provide input into the project quantity tracking system
  • Prepare field design changes for the project
  • Review project schedules and develop weekly work schedules with Civil and Area Superintendents
  • Inspect civil, structural and/or architectural work in progress and prepare appropriate inspection records
  • Witness tests and complete final test acceptance records before system turnover
  • Assist the Civil Superintendent and Area Superintendent in resolving construction issues
  • Verify/report installed civil, structural, and architectural quantities weekly
  • Prepare material requisitions for testing equipment, field-procured materials, and temporary construction materials
  • Monitor the status of material deliveries by maintaining open dialogue with suppliers and fabricators
  • Assist Area Superintendent on CSA related problems to obtain vendor information, substitutions, and other design-related issues
  • Coordinate as-built information for civil and architectural installations as required by the contract, specifications, or project procedures
  • Determine the scope of any installations not shown on the design drawings
  • Monitor and expedite off-site material fabrication to coordinate the proper flow of material to the site
  • Develop punch lists and work lists of to-go work for completing the Civil and Architectural installations
  • Perform system/area turnovers including preparation of applicable as built documents and inspection records required by the contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in civil, structural, and architectural construction
  • Strong understanding of construction quality control processes
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project automation tools and quantity tracking systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with temporary construction facility design
  • Familiarity with inspection and testing procedures
  • Knowledge of project scheduling and coordination.
