About the position

PND Engineers is seeking a highly motivated Civil/Structural CAD Designer for their Anchorage office. The role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings and collaborating with engineers and other disciplines on civil and structural design projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design, particularly in civil and public works projects, and will contribute to the development of complete drawing packages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, accurate and complete drawings using practical design knowledge.
• Develop detailed design elements using information from various sources including site studies, vendor drawings, and engineering sketches.
• Review and check design drawings and vendor shop drawings.
• Participate in design coordination with engineers and other disciplines in the development of complete drawing packages.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience demonstrating proficiency in computer-assisted techniques.
• Understanding of the development and markup of plan sets for civil and public works projects.
• Ability to read, use, and develop plan and profile drawings.
• Experience working with 3D drawings and models.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a teamwork setting.
• Ability to understand and follow CAD standards, procedures, and client requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD and ability to gain proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, and other engineering design applications.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to produce accurate work within budget and time constraints.
• Experience in Bluebeam REVU and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of CAD experience preferred.
• 2-year degree in design/drafting technology, OR completion of technical design/drafting certification preferred.
• Construction experience a plus.
