In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that require a high level of expertise in civil and structural engineering. You will demonstrate a continuous consciousness of safety in all daily activities, ensuring that safety considerations are integrated into your work designs. Effective communication, both orally and in writing, is essential as you will coordinate activities with other team members and manage client relationships to develop repeat business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include conducting structural analysis and design, preparing detailed design calculations and drawings, and independently preparing intermediate to advanced level specifications for project assignments. You will need to be proficient in using AutoCAD or similar CAD software and be willing to think creatively while collaborating with other engineers and drafts-persons in a team environment. Additionally, you will be expected to set realistic expectations for project timelines and budgets, manage your workload effectively, and request assistance as necessary to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities, and implemented in work designs.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to coordinate activities with others.
• Responsibilities will include structural analysis and design, preparation of detailed design calculations and drawings.
• Must be design capable and proficient using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Must be willing to think creatively, and work collaboratively with other engineers and drafts-persons in a team environment.
• Manage client relationships and develop repeat business opportunities.
• Independently prepare intermediate to advanced level specifications for project assignments, detailing client performance requirements, specific component needs, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements.
• Set realistic expectations and ensure assigned projects are completed according to schedule and within budget.
• Plan and manage workload, budgets and project resources, requesting assistance as necessary.

Requirements

• PE license Required; SE license Preferred
• 5-10+ years of design experience preferred
• Chemical plant or refinery experience preferred
• Bachelors of Science in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
• Proficient in STAAD Pro, RISA 3D, Foundation, & Connection
• Experience with Microstation and AutoCAD
• Autodesk Advance Steel experience a plus
