About the position

The Structural Engineer position at Insight Global involves working within a consulting environment to support the design and analysis of various structural projects, particularly focusing on large commercial buildings and warehouses. The role requires collaboration with CAD designers and other engineers to ensure that structural details are accurately represented in construction drawings and that all designs meet specified requirements.

Responsibilities

• Write structural reports for various projects.
• Perform additions to existing structures as needed.
• Check structural elements such as roofs, cooling units, and vent hoods for compliance and safety.
• Interact daily with CAD designers, lead engineers, and other structural engineers.
• Direct designers on required structural details for construction drawings.
• Review construction drawings to ensure they meet structural requirements.
• Analyze existing warehouse structures for integrity and safety.
• Oversee rooftop antenna installations and water tank installations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (mechanical engineering may be acceptable).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, particularly in building construction, masonry design, steel design, and/or bar joist design.
• Experience with large commercial buildings such as Home Depots, Walmarts, and Targets.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Kansas City.
• Experience with RISA 3D software.
