About the position

The Civil Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing on-site structural inspections to assess ongoing construction work, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, and maintaining organized project records. This role focuses on various structural elements and requires collaboration with design and field teams to monitor construction activities and resolve non-compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site structural inspections to assess ongoing construction work and verify material quality.
• Evaluate installation methods focusing on bolting, cast-in-place concrete, welding, cold-formed steel, underpinning, curtain walls, wall panels, veneers, and subsurface conditions.
• Monitor field construction activities by documenting installation progress and collaborating with design and field teams.
• Manage non-compliance issues and track incomplete items, working closely with contractors, vendors, and consultants.
• Maintain organized records by systematically saving project plans, updating field reports, tracking logs, and documenting changes.
• Provide up-to-date project status reports summarizing pending actions required for inspection sign-offs.
• Contribute to the pricing of structural components for new project proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering is required.
• Comprehensive training will be provided, prior construction or inspection experience is not necessary.
