About the position

The Civil / Structural Engineer at EnergySolutions, LLC is responsible for designing and supervising construction projects, applying extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices. The role involves taking building designs from concept to completion, performing engineering calculations, and ensuring compliance with project and code requirements. The engineer will work collaboratively in multi-discipline teams, providing technical expertise and guidance while managing project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Designs and supervises construction projects, applying engineering principles and practices.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform assignments.
• Takes building designs from concept to final design and construction.
• Performs engineering calculations using traditional methods or Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Generates layout plans, foundation details, steelwork details, and architectural feature designs.
• Assists in the preparation and approval of design documents and plant modifications.
• Provides technical expertise to develop and implement engineering analysis and programs.
• Ensures compliance with national codes and standards in the CS&A Engineering discipline.
• Interfaces with team members and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient work completion.
• Performs checking to ensure accuracy of design media according to company policies and client expectations.
• Works on project timelines, ensuring accuracy and completeness of work.
• Recommends new equipment and techniques to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Conducts independent research and analysis in support of plant changes and design modifications.
• Supports installation and testing of site systems and components.
• Participates in the preparation of cost estimates for engineering services.
• Acts as Engineering Manager on dedicated projects and leads the work of others.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills, experienced in presenting design media to large audiences.
• Advanced knowledge of FEA and civil design software, as well as Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of functional discipline and its practical application.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of management of complex engineering projects.
