About the position
The Civil/Structural Engineer will lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, manage engineering aspects of multiple projects, and assist in staff development through mentoring and instruction. This role involves collaboration with department managers to implement new policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to electrical safety codes and effective project management.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs and cost estimates.
- Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
- Develop schedules and define technical staff for daily project tasks.
- Assist in the development of staff by mentoring and instructing on engineering principles.
- Govern electrical safety codes and ensure compliance.
- Instruct technical staff in the use of computer systems and software.
- Coordinate internal and external reviews of designs prior to submission.
- Collaborate with department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proficiency in utility engineering design.
- Experience in cost estimation.
- Strong project management skills for projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
