About the position

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Civil/Structural Engineering Manager to lead multidiscipline project teams in developing substation sites for Electrical Utilities. The role involves coordinating all aspects of project execution, including project scoping, planning, and design activities, while ensuring high-quality work and effective client relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidiscipline project teams in the execution of civil/structural engineering projects.
• Coordinate project scoping, planning, and design activities.
• Prepare estimates and support proposal development.
• Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and project schedules.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with clients and lead internal meetings.
• Prepare project status reports and support resolution of client comments.
• Coordinate design review meetings with customers and issue design products.
• Perform project close-out activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and excellent communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with STAAD, Pro, SAP 2000, and/or Risa3D for modeling and analysis of steel support structures.
• Ability to perform structural reviews and evaluations of existing foundations and steel structures.
