This position is an exciting opportunity to work independently on fast-paced, technically complex design projects. The role involves supporting or leading substation engineering project teams, focusing on the development of both in-ground and above-ground civil/foundation and structural calculations, plans, and details. As part of a multi-discipline team, you will develop and review efficient and reliable civil/structural design packages for medium and high voltage substations. You will lead the civil/structural design for substations, which includes developing and reviewing civil site development, foundations, equipment support structures, control buildings, and ancillary structures. Your responsibilities will also include performing design studies and calculations, demonstrating a solid understanding of physical substation design, and coordinating design activities to maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements. You will assist in site visits, estimating, and attending project meetings, ensuring that all design activities comply with applicable codes and standards, including AtkinsRéalis' policies and procedures related to safety, environmental concerns, quality assurance, and quality control. In this role, you will prepare specifications for materials, equipment, and construction work, delivering accurate and thorough civil/structural designs that meet industry standards and prudent engineering practices.
