About the position

As a Civil/Structural Field Engineer at Actalent, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Civil and Structural systems, playing a crucial role in the development and implementation of engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with internal stakeholders to establish project criteria, scope, estimates, and schedules. You will be tasked with reviewing system drawings from external engineering firms to ensure they meet the necessary standards and compliance with local, state, and national codes, as well as company policies. In this position, you will conduct thorough reviews of shop drawings, process Requests for Information (RFIs), and complete Kanban tasks related to ACS systems. Coordination will be key, as you will work closely with contractors and plant facilities groups to manage weekend and plant shutdown work effectively. Continuous inspections of work progress will be part of your routine, ensuring that construction activities align with quality standards and project timelines. Additionally, you will support construction administration activities, which include coordinating schedules, confirming quality, leading weekly meetings, and managing planned utility outages. This role is fully on-site in Georgetown, Kentucky, and requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Civil or Structural Engineering. The position demands a blend of hard and soft skills, including technical expertise in civil/structural systems, stakeholder collaboration, and strong coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as 'Subject Matter Expert' related to Civil, Structural systems.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop project criteria, scope, estimate, and project schedules.
  • Provide internal review of CS system drawings from outside engineering firms to support system implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with related local, state, national codes, facility operations, and company standards.
  • Conduct shop drawing reviews, RFI processing, and Kanban completion for ACS systems.
  • Coordinate weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, and manufacturing groups.
  • Conduct work progress inspections on a continuous basis.
  • Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering - MUST HAVE
  • Expertise in Civil/Structural systems
