About the position

The Civil Technician position at East Coast Communications involves working in the telecommunications industry, focusing on the construction and maintenance of tower sites. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Technicians will be responsible for various tasks related to tower site construction and modifications, ensuring quality work while following risk management guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Properly follows all safety procedures and policies.
• Complete various job duties safely and efficiently with confidence and little to no supervision.
• Safely and properly use hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Identify and report any safety hazards to the foreman or lead technician.
• Perform general construction of tower sites including site layout, erection, installation, maintenance, and repair according to specific job orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly working environment.
• Pick up and deliver supplies, tools, equipment components, etc., to job sites and service center warehouses.
• Follow directions given by the foreman, lead, or management.
• Obtain tools within 90 days of employment.
• Communicate and represent East Coast Communications in a respectable manner.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge and use of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Experience in the tower industry or general construction and related work.
• Ability to recognize safety hazards.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Class A Drivers needed.
• Able to travel out of town on a limited basis as needed.
• Able to meet physical requirements such as standing, bending, and lifting for the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.
