About the position

AECOM is seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer to support the Maryland State Highway Administration on various roadway projects in Prince County, Maryland. This full-time position involves managing projects from preliminary design through construction, enhancing client relationships, and advancing professional development within a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct in-house design groups and consulting firms.
  • Develop and maintain design and advertisement schedules.
  • Conduct and/or attend project-related meetings.
  • Ensure designs comply with FHWA, SHA, and AASHTO policies and standards.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings related to design activities.
  • Incorporate engineering data and acquire appropriate permits and approvals.
  • Provide project development support.
  • Prepare responses to inquiries, questions, or complaints from citizens, elected officials, and community groups.
  • Prepare response letters.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 4 years of civil design engineering experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience with client relationships and project management.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of roadway design experience.
  • Experience with MD SHA manuals and Standard Plans.
  • EIT Certification or PE License.
