Join our team as a Civil Transportation Engineer specializing in roadway design and engineering. You will be joining a multidisciplinary team of engineers and will work on a variety of municipal and roadway projects. Your responsibilities will include geometric design, traffic design, and staging plans, as well as the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and bid documents that adhere to DOT and local municipalities agency standards. In addition to these tasks, you will handle utility coordination and relocation, along with storm water drainage design, ensuring that all projects meet the necessary regulatory requirements and standards. As a Civil Transportation Engineer, you will be expected to apply your technical expertise in roadway design and drainage design, performing calculations and preparing detailed construction documents and plans. You will also need to demonstrate proficiency in relevant software tools, including MicroStation, InRoads, AutoTurn, Civil 3D, and Roundabout design software. This position is hybrid, requiring some days on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and some days working remotely, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.
