About the position

The Civil Water / Wastewater Engineer at Morrison-Maierle will be responsible for various engineering project design opportunities related to water and wastewater infrastructure. This role involves planning, designing, permitting, and overseeing construction administration for projects focused on water intake, treatment, pumping, storage, distribution, and wastewater management. The engineer will work collaboratively with project managers and client service managers to ensure compliance with regulations and effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans, specifications, costs, and estimates for municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities.
  • Leverage design software to create project designs, draft plans, drawings, and models according to project specifications.
  • Complete project tasks from start to finish, supporting project and client services managers.
  • Provide job site support and observation and monitor construction progress.
  • Support project managers with construction administration tasks, including submittal and RFI review, progress payment review, compliance with funding agency provisions, and oversight of onsite RPRs.
  • Analyze facilities for system deficiencies regarding compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations, providing improvement alternatives.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Client Service Manager in engaging with community members, government officials, and other stakeholders to communicate project goals, address concerns, and gather input on water and wastewater initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4+ years design experience in water and wastewater projects.
  • PE license preferred or able to obtain after-hire.
  • Design software experience in Civil 3D or similar.
  • Experienced with Hydraulic modeling software or similar.
  • Knowledge of engineering planning studies.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable record for travel.
