About the position

The Civilian Pay Technician serves as a key resource within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) of the Defense Health Agency, providing essential clerical and technical support related to civilian pay issues. This role involves liaising with employees, supervisors, and managers to resolve both routine and complex pay-related inquiries, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The position is based at the Army Community Hospital WINN in Fort Stewart, GA, and requires a strong understanding of the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the civilian pay subject matter expert and technical point of contact for assistance related to the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS).
• Develop, update, and maintain local policies and procedures pertaining to pay and leave for ATAAPS, DCPS, and GFEBS.
• Act as an Application Administrator for the Automated Time and Attendance Production System (ATAAPS).
• Assist customers with information related to debt, leave, pay, and time and attendance, applying relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Perform a variety of analytical tasks and conduct special studies and projects to address and prevent pay and leave problems and issues.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience providing technical assistance on civilian timecard procedures.
• Experience researching pay, leave, and time and attendance problems or errors for payroll resolution.
• Experience inputting data into an automated civilian payroll system.
